Active directory error on windows server 2003

Recently I migrated a website to a web farm running windows server 2003
and started getting the following error message. "The (anr=) search
filter is invalid." The site worked fine on the other servers which I
ran it on, but not on the new server. It turns out that when we moved
the web site we never set up the new site to not allow anonymous
access, unfortunately since the error didn't imply this in any way we
spent allot of time trying to figure it out. Hope this helps anyone
else having the problem.
