Been trying a few things but not been able to solve this so far. I have 3
tables:
- source data shown in a paged gridview
- processed data (1 or more records per source record) shown in paged
detailview
- additonal messages ( 1 or more per processed data record) shown in another
non-paged gridview
Selecting a source record will show the relevant processed data and
additional messages. Linking the 3 views was a pain in itself, but I got
that working.
Now for the actual question: I want to provide 2 search boxes, each for a
different column in the source data, that will allow me to search for
specific records. If either of the two search fields is filled in this
should be used for searching, if both fields are empty the full source data
set should be retrieved.
I have tried to use filtering but the source data gridview does not reflect
my search, even though the filter expression is properly set when
debugging. I have tried changing the select command directly in the
Selecting event, but the command seems to change back to the original
command I put in for the gridview.
Any idea how to achieve this?
