Hi All,
Has anyone used the asp.net 2.0 RegisterAsyncTask as seen in these
sample code:
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/system.we...asynctask.aspx
http://msdn.microsoft.com/msdnmag/is...?fig=true#fig7
The examples are pretty straightforward and easy to use I do have one
question though in regards to using RegisterAsyncTask method in a
separate class.
It seems this method is tied to the current aspx page. It is not
available when I use httpcontext.current from my other class. The only
way I've been able to get it to work is by passing the entire
System.Web.UI.Page class into a method of my other class which isn't
idle. Can anyone please let me know how I can reference this method
from my other class?
One of the reason why I would liek to use a separate class is that I
would like the separate class to determine how many tasks it needs to
do to retrieve the results in effect I would like something like this:
---------------------------------
----------------------------------------------
ASPX PAGE MY CLASS
--------------------------------- ==========>
-----------------------------------------------
myClass.GetResults() Function
GetResults()
--------------------------------- //
Create Tasks
//
Register them (RegisterAsyncTask )
//
Execute tasks
//
Return results
Thanks for your time and effort
Regards rob
