custom handler

hey all,

i'm working on an AJAX example and it has the following snippet:
obj.onreadystatechange = ProcessResponse;
obj.open("GET", "http://localhost/WebApplication4/helloworld.aspx", true);
obj.send(null);

when it runs the obj.open statement it kicks off a long process async'ly.
when i close the browser in the middle of this process the page doesn't work
anymore. is there something still running that i need to end or something?
