check value in server without reloading all the page

hi.

i want to display page.
then check every 10 seconds from the client, if a value in the server is
changed WITHOUT RELOADING THE ALL PAGE.
if value has change, i want the client to reload the page again.
any ideas what ways i can do that ?

You can use xmlhttp post to check whether any data is changed in server side
from client side every 20 seconds. then using cliend site script like
location.href, you can refresh the page. To know more about xmlhttp post,
