Cannot open Word doc using IE

hello all,

I have a small question. I have an application which actually converts
binary data to word document and saves on the server. The next phase of the
project involves opening the word document which I created. But i get the
following error when i tried to open the word document.

"Internet Explorer cannot download file.doc from virtualdirectoryname.com

Internet Explorer was not able to open this Internet site. The requested
site is either unavailable or cannot be found. please try again later ".
If i try opening the same document using Mozilla or netscape it doesn't
complain. i mean i am able to open the document.

If i have a text file, i am able to open it with IE. Could any one tell me
why its doing such a crazy thing.

Thanking You

How are you attempting to send the .DOC file? What headers are being sent
down with the file?
