Help: aspnet_state error

I am receiving an error each time i attempt to start the
aspnet_state.exe program.
aspnet_state: exiting with error code 0x80070427.

I have verified that the registry keys are present and
that aspnet is registered properly.

Any ideas?
Thanks
Tom

Do you have the service set to run on the "Local Account" credentials?

Anything in the event log?

Just idea,

First of all its a service, you need to start it using "net start".
Anyway this process is listening to a port and maybe that port is
already used by other process. You can check and change the port in the
registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\aspnet_state\Parame
ters\Port
