Renaming folder => Application restart

Hi,
In my code, I rename a folder and then the asp.net application restarts !
So i've lost my session variables ...
How is it possible for the application asp.net to restart when you rename a
folder of the website ???

Thank you.

My understanding is that Folder name plays a role in the name of the
generated class.
So if you have an aspx in the folder then application must be recompiled.

Therefore Application restrated.

Nope, it's a simple folder.
I can create a new folder, delete of folder, create a file, rename a file,
delete a file, application does not restart.
BUT when i rename a folder, IIS restat the application !
I tested with C# code (Directory.Move()) and I tested with Explorer
directly.
It's weird...and I explored all the solutions...I'm close to get a
conclusion, it's a bug or a security issue from Microsoft.

Thx for your help

Greg

The application also restarts when there is no file in the folder.
