Hello,
I am attempting to have a class that I have written serialize so that it can
be both passed as a parameter or return value for a webservice, and also be
serialized to disk using the XmlSerializer.
When this class is decalred as a return value for a WebMethod in an XML
WebService I receive the following exception:
System.IO.FileNotFoundException: File or assembly name rexz5r1o.dll, or one

Hi,
I have a problem with instantiating a Web service. When the constructor for
the proxy is called a SEHException is thrown. The call stack is shown below:
System.Runtime.InteropServices.SEHException: External component has thrown
an exception.

Hello,
I'm getting the following error now with my aplication, but only when I run it ocally on my machine:
System.Runtime.Serialization.SerializationException: Cannot find member name System.Data.SqlClient.SqlError.
If I push the same build to a production server it runs without issue. This began happening suddenly and was working without issue locally on my machine. I've made no configuration changes to the machine except install windows...

Hi group!
Is it possible to scan an assembly *which has NOT been added as a
reference* for types, and dynamically create instances of the loaded
types?
I have a program, MyProgram.exe, which at runtime uses
Asseembly.LoadFile(...) to load an assembly, MyAssembly.dll. When
MyAssembly.dll is added as a reference to the MyProgram project,
serialization and de-serialization works lige a charm.

I'm developing a client/server application (in VS2005 managed C++) which
makes use of .Net remoting. A simplified solution which demonstrates the
problem I'm having can be found at:
http://www.nmt.edu/~elessar/RemotingTest.tar.bz2
http://www.nmt.edu/~elessar/RemotingTest.zip
Uncommenting Server.cpp line 67 causes the problem. Removing it fixes the
problem. The server listens on port 1357, and the client connects to
localhost:1357.

Hi,
I am wondering why the .NET Framework is quite different from Win32 API when
it comes to displaying system modal message boxes.
Consider the four following types of system modal message boxes (please see
associated source code below):
1) Win32 API with context ("btnWin32WithContext_Click")
2) .NET Framework with context ("btnFrameworkWithContext_Click")
3) Win32 API withOUT context ("btnWin32WithOUTContext_Click")

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
