Hi,
I am revamping my company's website using .Net 2.0 & C#. I would like to
implement my own custom membership provider to manage membership information
already stored in my existing SQL 2000 database.
Therefore, I need to create a class the inherits the MembershipProvider
abstract class from the System.Web.Security namespace. For instance, I need

I am studing VS 2005 Feb CTP, and thinking how to use those new features to
my new web project. I think the currently implemented MembershipProviders is
useless, because if I want to add a new field like phone/address, I must
write my MembershipProvider, and all related MembershipUser,
MembershipUserCollection... right? The real web sites always has more user
fields important.

I've created a Custom MembershipProvider, in the user creation i have to
return somehow the ProviderUserKey but inside the MembershipProvider I have
no access to the session to store the info.

tool. Which is a royal pain in the butt, because there doesn't appear to be any way to debug the Configuration tool.

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
