I was experiencing problems with session in asp .net.
I´ve set up session timeout on 180 minutes at web.config, machine.config,
iis and even in application code, always session expires on 20 minutes after
last request.
Any solutions?
Thank you in advance. 3 2063

How do you known that sessions expire? May be you mixing that up with
application being recycled, which is a different reason for losing session
variables. Check this article for more info: http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;324772

Thanks for the answers.
I used Performance Counters (Worker Process Restarts, Sessions Active,
Sessions Timed Out and Sessions Abandoned ) to watch execution. Worker
Process never restarts.
I keep looking for help, thanks.

First: There are several ways to confuse one regarding session timeout.
(1) web.config - <sessionState timeout="20">
(2) IIS Manager | Internet Information Services | ServerNode | Default Web Site |
Properties | Configuration | Options | Enable Session State
Session timeout 20
(3) within Global.asax.vb file - Session_Start subroutine can use
Session.Timeout=x minutes or
(4) within any web page, i.e., <web page>.aspx can use...

I know this issue has been brought up many times, but I have tried many of
the solutions to no avail. I wanted to give my specific case to see if
someone could be of any help.
We are using the sessionstate inproc mode and users are randomly losing
their session. I do not believe it is happening across all users at one
time. It seems to happen to different users at different times, but I am
only going off heresay. The aspnet worker...

Do we have any access to the Session object from a different Session? The
idea is to save Session of a current user and then if he logs in again
then return the Session back. It's not a problem to store, there is only one
complicated object in this Session, but to get it on SessionStart to make
a copy this is a problem.
Maybe using Application or whatever? Or this data is divided and
inaccessible anyway?

I am deploying to a web environment that uses load balancing and to insure
that sessions persist across servers, the environment uses SQL to manage
sessions. The machine.config file determines how all applications will use
sessions and to insure that all application use this method, the session
properties cannot be overriden.
Within the sessionstate tags, the webadmin (upon my request)r emoved the
property for timeout, hoping that...

Hello,
i'm struggling with a somehow badly understood session scenario.
I provide acces to my pages based on form authentication using
Session cookies.
Som of my pages are supposed to be running continuously and refreshing once
an hour.
I there set timeout= 61 in <sessionState section and on my page it says
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="3600">.
I also set timeout=120 in the <forms section of web.config to make sure

Hi,
I am facing a problem of automatic session timeout problem and
automatic session_end event fired.
Case1: As I have analyzed I get to know that the default session
timeout is 20 in web.config, If I reassign the session timeout at
login page other than the time which is defined at web.config(20 Min.)
then automatic session_end (in global.aspx.cs) event fired.
Why automatic this event is fired??

Hi,
Well, my problem is so simple as it says in the subjet but very frustrating
also. I have a project and it is losing the session variables with each
postback, so I downloaded from the web a project which used a session
management dll to discover what was wrong in my project. This web project has
two pages, one send to the other a variable with session state and the other
changes this one, shown in a label, with each postback, well,...

I'm using ASP 3.0 however there is ASP.NET, because I'm working an old
site that is built in ASP 3.0.
I hope you for getting any help for my problem from you.
So, my site's sessions are empty before its timeout.
I have searched and checked for long time around this problem, but I
can't fix the problem yet.
The session timeout is 20 minutes in IIS 5.1 by default.
I didn't set the timeout as "session.timeout=10" in codes of VBScript

Hi,
I've got a web application written in ASP class with VBScript. We have a home grown conctact management system for my company that our users stay active in throughout the day. My problem lies with the continued timeout we sometimes experience.
I have tried just about everything to allow an 8 hour timeout for this application. I've set the session timeout to 480 in IIS (running IIS 6 on windows 2k3 SE) and i've also tried coding it in...

I have been struggling with unexpected error messages on an ASP.NET system, using SQL and C#. The application draws organisation charts, based on data stored in the SQL database. Some of the chart editing processes place a very heavy load on the server as the effects of the edit ripple through the organisation structure, requiring potentially large numbers of rows in one of the tables to be updated. (I have done it this way to make the more...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
