Gridview

Hi,
I have a gridview inside a table <table>...</table>
I have define explicitly wide of the table, for example 800px.
If we need gridview which is inside 800px table wider than table wide, how
can I show horizontal scroll bar on it?
I do not want to change the wide of main table. Thank you.

TIA & Regards,
Gun

Hello,

I've never done it with the GridView, but I'm sure it applies there too:

http://www.w3schools.com/css/pr_pos_overflow.asp

The overflow property defines what an object does when it overflows the
boundaries of its parent. Setting this to scrollable will give you the end
result of a scrollbar which - I think - is what you want.

If you need an example let me know.

You can put the gridview inside a panel, and use the scrollbars on the
panel. Check out the sample at ASPNet101:

I'm reposting this. I'm kinda in a bind untill i get this figured out, so if anyone has some input it would sure help me out. Ok, I’ve noticed a few gridview problems floating around the forum. Everyone wants to do a java confirmation box when a user clicks the delete button. Fair enough, basic user design rules state that you should always confirm a delete action. There is also a consensus that the best way to do this is a template...

Hello, Does anyone have an idea on how I can filter the data in the gridview control that was returned by an sql query? I have a gridview that works fine when I populate it with data. Now I want to look at that data and filter it based on what is in it. I know that this could have been done with data sets and data views in asp.net 1.1 but how is this done now in asp.net 2.0?

I have a GridView bound to an ObjectDataSource. I have a Button that calls GridView.DataBind. I want the row that is selected before the DataBind to still be selected afterwards. This happens automatically if the data doesn't change. But if records have been added or deleted then it looks as if some code is necessary: I've done this by using GridView.SelectedValue to get the key value of the currently selected Row and then by itterating...

Hi - This could be a simple question. When I relate two tables in a datasetet, how do I get that relation to show up in a GridView? The only way I've done it, is to create a separate table in the dataset with a join query for the GetData() select method. I use ObjectDataStore to couple the GridView with the table adapter on the dataset. If I point the ODS at the child table, the GridView will bind to the "normal" select and I end up...

I have a GridView in a FormView that has as its datasource a DataTable that is stored in the session cache. When I first load the page the GridView is displayed correctly, but on subsequent loads the GridView does not display. I've been googling for some time, and could not find the solution to this problem. I am testing the paging feature of gridview. I have a very simple web form on which the user can select a few fields to be included in the table, which is to be bound to the gridview. The web form looks like so (Don't worry about the stupidity of this web form for now.):

Hi folks, Here's a weird problem... I have a nested GridView setup (i.e. a GridView within a GridView), and within the nested GridView I have a DropDownList item which has the OnSelectedIndexChanged event set on it. Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
