Are you up to speed on the difficulties in using the 1.1 .Net framework?
Not if you are unaware of the 1,596 issues listed at KBAlertz
(http://www.kbalertz.com/technology_3.aspx).
If you are going to use .Net......I highly recommend signing up for the free
KBAlertz newsletter at http://www.kbalertz.com/default.aspx.
Looking at all of the errors and quirks sometimes makes me wonder if this
thing is really ready for prime time.

We just recently moved one of our major c# apps from VS Net 2002 to VS Net

appear.
So far ...

If the db_value was not included in the ComboBox value list the
ComboBox.SelectedIndex used to return -1, Now the very same code is

I have implemented a user control in c# .net 2002 but the problem is that
the control keeps disappearing off of the form for no reason. I am not
making any changing to the form or the control. It disappears off of all
the forms that it is on. Any hints why this is happening?

I have two different problems:
1. When the user has clicked on a button that is causing the browser
to post back to the server, it could take a little while for the new
page to show up. So in the mean time, I want to change the cursor to
an hourglass and disable all of the controls on the form using
javascript so the user can't do anything with any of the controls on
the page. But when I disable certain controls (e.g. text boxes, radio...

I'm developing an application for use within my company in Access 2003.
I'm new to '03, the application I did for my former employer was in
'97. The two applications have similar functionality (we're sales
offices, and I'm doing things such as associate directories, commission
calculations, order tracking, etc.). 2003 seems to have a few extra
features, but I seem to continually run in to oddities that seem like
they SHOULD work, but...

Hello,
I'm using a Login Control on asp.net 2.0 website and it works fine on
IE & Firefox, however I have recently added a javscript function to
listen for a 'return-key-click' and am encountering problems with
Firefox.
If the user clicks the 'Login' button with a mouse button click, it
works fine, however if the user hits enter, the form fields are
cleared and the user is not logged in.
Please note, this only happens if the user has...

I have an VC++ MFC Win32 application that isn't working correctly when I
build it with VS2005. The problem seems to be in some ADO ActiveX controls
that came with VS6 and are now out of support. So, I have decided to solve
the problem by using a mixed assembly: Most of the program will be my MFC -
based code (unmanaged), but I will implement one dialog box as managed code.
In my original MFC app, this dialog box contains the problem ActiveX...

Hi,
I've got some problems with loading bills using a bill usercontrol I built.
If I load all current bills in my test environment (156) everything is fine
once, but repeating the operation (which clear all the bills and reshow all
of them) four to five times and I get a Error creating window handle. I
investigated on all of this, a lot, and still I'm not able to find where
this problem come from. I know that the GDI objects column in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
