order by name, "the surname"

229 100+
Hi, I have my queries like so

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. & " Order By Author ASC"
The thing is I have "first name" and "surname" in the same database field.

fred jones

Is there a way to sort asc by the surname?

Hope thats an easy thing, this asp gets complicated.
Thanks
Richard

I don't see an obvious way to sort in the SQL, it definitely would be useful to separate those, or at least put them surname first: "Jones, Fred". It wouldn't be too hard to write a script that runs through the whole db and changes them all.
