Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a000d

Hello,
can someone help! I am getting an error:

Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a000d
Type mismatch

/bps/srch-detail.asp, line 137

I didn't write this asp - I know very little about asp - I'm just trying
to get this site working on my server! I think the offending lie is
this:

<% If arr_RS(8,0) > 0 then%>

any ideas??
thanks

CInt()
CDbl()
you are probably comparing a String to a Int/Number

IN my code, I am comparing a string to a number.

<%if (Recordset1.Fields.Item("PRICE").Value) > 999 then%> (This is line 186)
<br><div align="left"><a href="https://188.securewebs.co.uk/NEPremierMotors/frmfinance.asp?<%=(Recordset1.Fields.Item("FULL_RE G").Value)%>" target="_top"><font color="#FF0000">Click to arrange finance on this car</font></a></div>
<% end if %>

If the price is greater than 999 then show the finance page.

This works on one server, but on another I get the error,
Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a000d'

Type mismatch: '[string: "£2,975"]'

/cheapcars/www/root/StockList.asp, line 186

Can anyone help with this?
