Date Issues with asp

rp
Hi,

I have a form in which I do a number of checks using javascript to make sure
the date is posted as DD/MM/YY. But when I then get the ASP side of running
checks and updating data the date format is switched to MM/DD/YY. Causing
me all sorts of problems.

Now, I understand that this date format is being picked up from the regional
settings on the server and I could just change this. But what the
application I'm developing needs to be flexible enough to work on any system
of any region.

Is there a way within ASP I can force the date to be handle within dd/mm/yy
or alternatively is there a way I can access the regional settings of the
server I'm on and then edit the date accordingly?

Many thanks,

Rick

Hi,

I have found I can use the session.LCID = 2057 on the login page set that
session to the UK regional settings. This seems to be working ok. Is this
a good way of doing this?

In terms of the application I'm quite happy to force people to stick to one
date format instead of trying to handle all of them.

Hi

What I do is,
1. While getting data from Database, use a char functions like to_char('<date>','dd/mm/yyyy'
2. While string data in Database, use a Date functions like to_char('<date>','dd/mm/yyyy'

Cheers
