Aaron,
Yes, of course it depend on the code.
What I am asking is if there are any test result out there on general apps
on different platforms.
Microsoft has lot of case studies in their archives but must of them are
years old. Let's say I have an app that serves about 40page/sec with a load
of 100 concurrent users on a P3 800Mhz and 256MB RAM /IIS 5.0. What
performance gain will I have with the same app on a dual Xeon 3GHz with 1GB
RAM and IIS 5.0 and IIS 6.0 respectivly (I read somewhere that IIS 6.0 give
a 30% boost)?
I have some old test and would like to know before I buy new server what the
benefits can be.
Thanks in advance
Christian

I am interested to know what the page/sec, concurrent users (on avarage,
this of course depends on other factors) is for Dell PowerEdge servers.
Umm, doesn't that depend on what the ASP page does? I can set up a pretty
bogus test where a simple response.write ASP page on a single-cpu 486
outperforms a more complex page on a quad 3.0 Ghz with 8GB of RAM.
In other words, I don't think you'll get exact numbers unless you test
YOUR application on different hardware.
