XMLHTTP experience

Anybody got experience in using the XMLhttp object?

I'm looking to use it to extract data from certain web pages so that I can
create a localised search engine, ala fusionbot.com.

Any assistance you can give would be appreciated.

It's good at that.

Have you considered asking your host to set up index server configured just
as you want?

Piece of cake:

(Though a server-side process is far more reliable and a better solution).
