BinaryWrite based images print from only certain versions of IE. Why?

I'm using the following code to generate images:

strFile = Request.QueryString("id")
FPath = "c:\docs\" & strFile
Set adoStream = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Stream")
adoStream.Open()
adoStream.Type = 1
adoStream.LoadFromFile(FPath)
Response.BinaryWrite adoStream.Read()
adoStream.Close: Set adoStream = Nothing
Response.End

-----------

The above code is in an ASP page called image.asp. I call it from another
page like this:

<img src="image.asp?id=picture.jpg>

-----------

In the following browsers, I'm able to Print Preview and Print the images
called in this way:

MSIE 6.0.2800.1106
MSIE 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp2_sp2_rtm.040803-2158
MSIE 5.00.3700.1000
Mozilla Firebird
Konqueror

-----------

These browsers however, I'm unable to view the images in Print Preview nor
Print them:

MSIE 6.0.2800.1106 IC
MSIE 6.0.2900.2180 xpsp2

-----------

Any clue as to why? I'm able to see the images in the actual webpages in
all browsers mentioned above, I just can't print them in those two. I
can't find any relevant bug reports.

I've already selected Internet Options -> Advanced -> Print background
images, etc.
