How to add a sequential row number to query

547 512MB
Is there perhaps a simple way of adding a sequential number to a row in a query starting from one for the first row at the top going down etc. This should be added every time you open the query.
I have a query that filters on multiple criteria and not just one field, but the first line should always be "1".
In a report you just add =1 in the control source making it uncomplicated.
Anything as simple as this for a query?

There's nothing as simple as that but you can accomplish the same effect with a subquery or a self join with a count. You will have to choose a unique field to sort by though.
