Has anyone ever run Access on a Mac?

But I have lots of code invested in Access. I'm told that if I try to run Access on a Mac, I have to set up a shell for windows - and that puts me back in the windows operating system with all its problems.

I'm getting really tired of watching my PC's gradually slow down to a crawl. It seems that no matter what virus protection I put on the system, eventually the system starts dragging, particularly if I'm connected to the internet.

Every month, Microsoft sends updates and though I'm sure they improve security, they are clearly designed for more powerful machines and older PCs get slower from the updates - so users start avoiding the updates.

These problems don't seem to exist on a Mac (I think).

I know this question is going to sound silly because Access is a Microsoft product, but is there a way to run Access without dealing with the shortcomings of Windows?

How does everyone deal with this?

Thanks,
Adam
