Is a combo box capable of doing this?

1 New Member
Hello everyone,

I'm new with working with databases and VBA but have been catching on steadily. I currently have a combo box that lists all the records in a table and I want to have an add new record option that would allow me to add a new record to the table I'm querying. Is this possible???

If you have to use the combo box, you'll have to manually enter the option "Insert new record." You'd then have to use VBA such that when this is selected and the user clicks a command button a form with text boxes opens. From this form the user would enter the new record.

Something like:

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1.  If Combo1.value = "Insert new record" then
  2.             DoCmd.OpenForm ...
You'd place that code in the "On Click" Event of the command button.
