I have link table connected to SQL server.
The forms and report are now in place and I installed it to a shared drive so that all user can access it. But it keeps prompting a log in user name and password coming from sql server when running a report with query.

Is there a way that i can hard coded the user name and password it during event on opening the report? Anybody help me to do the script?

thanks!

Hi,

If you use a "connection string" approach to get to your SQL data, rather than static linked tables, then you can give it a usercode and password once, and not have it prompt you again.
The downside to this is that you probably need to rewrite some of your solution to use a connection object rather than a named table.

Or, if you are wanting to keep the static query approach then you can dynamically create a table link, using a "connect string" approach, that lets you (largely) keep your existing code the same.
See http://bytes.com/forum/thread787593.html for an example of this approach.

If this is not what you were thinking of then let me know.

Regards,
Zwoker.
