Access Evaluation

hi there, i have taken on ownership of an access database that has over 2000 queries and 300 tables. The organisation is very poor. I am convinced that a lot of tables/queries are not now used and can be removed. Is there a simple way of determining when a table/query was last used so that i can determine if it can be removed or not.

thanks

Hi. Sorry, but Access generally does not record the date/time of last use of a query.

Queries are stored as QueryDef objects in the QueryDefs collection. If you use the Help file and look through the proeperties available for a QueryDef there are Date Created and Last Updated properties, but no Date Last Used.

For tables the Last Updated property will indicate when a change was last made to the contents, but as some tables will be relatively static (used mainly for lookups) the date of last update will not be a reliable guide to whether or not the table is truly active.
