how to update a repeated record

Hi guys,

just really want to know if someone can help me with a query.
I have the following table

[item code] [product name] [entered
date] [obsolete]
1 apple
01/01/2007 False
2 pear
01/01/2007 False
3 apple
31/12/2007 False

I want to use a update query to make it so the oldest individual
record's obsolete field become true. So it would look like the
following.:

[item code] [product name] [entered
date] [obsolete]
1 apple
01/01/2007 True
2 pear
01/01/2007 False
3 apple
31/12/2007 False
Thanks,

Tom
