Export one record from database including a picture as an OLE object

10 New Member
Hello,

I have a Access 200 format database that contains contact details and a picture for each record. The contact details are held in one table and the images are held in another as OLE Objects. This database is used to produce passes.

I want to export one record from the dartabase including the picture into a format that can be easily tansferred by email.

I've created a query based on the two tables that will retreive all the details based on id. used the query to create a report and then exported the report to xml. However when I try to import this xml file into another database it fails with the errors

Error Message
Field truncation
Microsoft JET Database Engine: The field is too small to accept the amount of data you attempted to add. Try inserting or pasting less data.
Microsoft JET Database Engine: Update or CancelUpdate without AddNew or Edit.
Microsoft JET Database Engine: Update or CancelUpdate without AddNew or Edit.

I've also tried to just export the picture seperately in xml but this also produces the above errors.

What would be the best way to go about doing this?
I can export the setails seperately as a csv file but I'm struggling to export the picture, even when I preview the report a box appears for the picture but I cannot see the photo.
The image table is made up of the following fields

ID number
length number
picture OLE Object
type number

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

First of all, I need to give some credit to Mahesh Chand for providing me with an excellent basis to export data to excel. What does this code do: As the title says, this code is capable of extracting all tables and it's data from any given database! I was searching the net for a program like this, but I didn't come accross any (free)...
