Automatic change of values in a form

I am setting up a database for entering sales.

The form has a combobox based on the product table (ID, description, colour).

When I select the product from the drop down menu I would like another field "price" to display the value automatic.

Hope this makes sence and someone can help me.

Thanks!

Assuming that your combobox is called cmbProduct, your price field is a textbox called txtPrice, and the price is stored somewhere in the product table, the ID is stored as the value of cmbProduct, and the ID is numeric, then:

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. Private Sub cmbProduct_afterUpdate()
  2.      Dim rs as DAO.recordSet
  3.      Set rs = DBEngine(0)(0).openRecordSet("SELECT price FROM product WHERE ID = " & cmbProduct.value & ";")
  4.      txtPrice.value = rs!price
  5. End Sub
  6.
Hope this helps.
