Tasks Calander

Hello and nice week everyone ! :)
I saw many pepole asked that question, and didn't got any answer...
I would like if someone would help insted of telling its not a good thing to do.

I made a data base for customers in a B&B place.
I've made some tables, one for the customers info, another for the resevations, and one for the rooms.

now, I want the form of the rooms to be a big calander, that I can click on each day and it will list me the rooms (the rooms can also be listed on the squres of the cal), and there I could refer to the resevation form. for each room....

I know its not an easy thing to do, but if someone could direct me it would be nice.

the idea is that I could see visualy on each day which rooms are still avalable and which are taken. and that I couldn't do "over booking"

any directions would be nice: )

thanks in advance Idan,

Yes sounds like a fair amount of work. This one will probably be some trial and error and lots of controls. My first thought sounds clumsy and probably slow, I would probably think on it some more, but if it helps here is my first thought. I am thinking that 31 list boxes (hiding the ones not needed for that month) then they will list the available rooms for the day, then when you click on a room it opens the reservations form... Maybe some arrow keys up top and a field displaying the month you are currently viewing...

An alternative is to adapt one of the Form based calender controls that have already been developed: http://www.granite.ab.ca/access/calendars.htm or http://allenbrowne.com/ser-51.html

You could use one of these forms, for example to popup a separate form with the listed reservations for that day, or even adapt it to contain, like Denburt suggested, list boxes with the reservations.

Just ideas. The work is up to you! :-)

Scott

I just thought of an interesting one. I know you can link an Access database to MS Outlook so just use the appointments calendar in Outlook and store the data in MS Access through the link..... Could save you a ton of time.

Thanks for every one :)

I start to work on that
I think I'm doing something like what Denburt suggested with 31 days..
but actully I'm doing it only for 3 weeks, beacuse it fits more nicely on the screen...

I'm using DateAdd()

thanks again :)
