Embedded image into form/report

Can anyone outhere advise me about a best practice of embedded the image into form or report.

I have several forms and report which embedded images (logo) to the header. I observed that the database size is quickly increase its size (up to 80 MB for only 20 records).

Then, I changed the picture type in all forms/reports to Linked. Now, the database size is reduced to around 10 MB. After the records up to nearly 200, when I open the database, it displays the message that the importing image is in progress . . . and it takes long time (sometime haft an hour or more).

Your advise on this issues are highly appreciated.
