Tab controls and sub forms

2 New Member
Hi, very much a beginner here. (Access 2003)

I have a 2 page tab control. On page 1, I have my main form and a number of sub forms which work well (except for setting some filters which I need to look into) However when I put another form on th page 2, according to the Access help - it should be set up as a subform of the main page.

The underlying tables are linked and the Primary Keys are the same name and format ie on the Parent form and the proposed subform on page 2. The Form appears to be set up as a sub form but the child and parent fields are not populated. When I attempt to set up these fields it says I cannot do so because the form on page 2, is not bound.

I've read and re-read the help but I don't see what I'm doing wrong.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

No it is set as a subform of the main form. Normallly the form on which you put the tab control would be your main form and you would set each tab page with a subform of the main form.

Thanks for the Reply. Used it and got immediate results - so thank you.

I had started to suspect that was the case. I've read and reread theOnline help and I still reckon it says that you can have parent childs across the TABS. Must be my english

Thanks guys
