Printing Reports in a locked down system

344 Recognized Expert Contributor
Can someone please remind me how to do this.

I have an Access 2003 frontend with all menus and toolbars disabled. This system generates reports which are opened in preview modal (dialog) mode, so that the user must deal with the report before anything else.

The problem I have is, there is no option to print the report. The user cant use the toolbars, even if I allowed them, cause the report is modal, and cant right click the mouse and print cause that is disabled.

I know I did this years ago but cant remember what I did.

I have a report, open in preview mode, and I need to print it. How?

TIA

Have you tried using the keyboard shortcut? Hold the control key down and press the letter p Ctrl+P

You should be able to press and hold the shift key when the database opens, this will disable any startup options and may allow you access to the toolbars.

Thanks, the Ctrl P works a treat.

They cant access the toolbars because the report is opened in dialog mode.
As all the reports are accessed from one form, I have put an option group on the form and users can now choose to review reports (and use Ctrl P to print it) or print reports directly
