One record filtering options available for the next

2 New Member
Hi

I have created a database in Access 2000. I have two linked tables, let's call them "Faculty" and "Course". In the Course table, each course is identified as being part of a particular faculty.

There is another table, where tutors enter the number of students which they are able to accept on each course for a particular year. To simplify the data entry, I would like them to select "Faculty" first and then be given a choice of the "Courses" available in their particular faculty.

I have created a query where the courses for each faculty could be displayed and I wanted my table to link with this query and give me the drop-down list that I am looking for. However I really don't know how to go about this and can't find reference to it in any books or forums.

Would you be able to tell me:

1. What this function is called? (So that I can try searching again)
2. Whether it is achievable using Expression Builder or whether I would need to know VBA in order to achieve this?
3. Any tips on making this happen!

Many thanks,

Kirsty
