Help: Can't add two fields in a query unless data in both

Hi,

I am hoping you can help me with an Access problem I am having. I have a query where I am trying to add two fields from a table. For some reason, I only get a result when there is data in both fields. Example:

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. Field_A      Field_B      Query_addition_result:
  2. 2               4                6
  3. 5
  4.                 7
  5. 8               1                9
Any ideas? Thank you so much in advance for your help!!

Try:

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. select Field_A, Field_B,
  2.        NZ(Field_A)+NZ(Field_B) as Query_addition_result from tblX;
This will neutralize the effect of Nulls.
