linked table from SQL - can not be updated

10 New Member
I have a linked table from SQL server and created a local copy. user may edit the values in the local table and when it is finalize, sql will be updated. i created an update query that will do the work but there's an error. it seems that the linked table is not updateable. is it because of sql permissions on the table? if so...is there a work around using MS Access?

in sql, the table can be updated. it is only when i linked it to access that i cant update the table.

thanks!

If this turns out to be a SQL Server permission issue then you will need to speak to your SQL Server administrator. This is a specialist issue that is not straightforward and depends on many option settings and how your particular server has been configured.
You could try in the SQL forum but don't expect anything from anyone unless you put in a lot more relevant information.
I still think your local SQL Server administrator is the most appropriate place to look.
