table relationships

hey.. i have 12 tables that are all identical. i imported from a spreadsheet
that had 1 tab for each month in 05, and i've got each table with about 9
fields that are all identical (except for the data, of course). they each
have a primary id which is autonumber. what i want to do is get it all into
one table. i tried making a dozen different queries but i can't get one to
pull from every table, despite having (poorly) defined a relationship between
each field of each table. i don't know squat about relationships, it seems,
so i'm stuck and would rather not enter a years worth of data by hand. any
suggestions?

Why not consolidate all the worksheets into 1 worksheet--copy and paste
each tab worksheet to the one that will finally get imported into
Access. Leave out the ID column, as that can be created automatically
in Access.
From your post above, you have 9 fields including the auto number ID

field. So you would create the consolidated table in Excel with 8
fields. Import into Access. After import, go to table design, and add
ID auto number field (column) to table.

No, No, No.... it can't be done that way. that's far too easy of a solution.
It needs to be more complicated and time consuming than that. I could bang
that out in about 10 minutes with array formulas in excel. i was looking for
a arm's length long post of procedures and sql statements about union queries
and vba code that would take me hours just to cut and paste. your way is
just too direct and to the point. i mean, really... why don't you keep your
simple, easy, effective suggestions to yourself instead of wasing my time
with such an obvious answer.

(d'oh! thanks.)
