csv file line length limit

I receive data from a web form in csv (comma and quote) form which I import
into Access. The data include some long narratives (three fields of two to
three paragraphs). Access seems to cut off the data at some length limit,
however if I import the same data into an Excell spreadsheet, nothing gets
cut off. Any ideas how to get all the data into Access without going
through some intermediate step with Excell?

If the data is over 255 characters you have to define the field
it will be imported into as a memo type field. You can do that by
creating an import specification using the import wizard.

But he can import into Excel, so I don't think the 255 characters limit
applies. I think the table he's trying to import to is set to less
than 255 characters. Set it to 255 and see what that does.

That means you are probably importing that particular data
to a standard text field. To store more than 255 chars you
need to use a memo field. Set up a memo field in the
appropriate table and then edit the import spec, or your
code, for that column of csv to send it to the memo field.
