I'm pulling MAC address off local machine with code furnished by Radu Lascae

I would like to know if all MAC addresses
are expressed as 48-bit numbers, IE, they
contain 12 HEX digits?

The IEEE 802 networks may have 16-bit or 48-bit physical addresses.
This specification allows the use of either size of address within a
given IEEE 802 network.
