Can I automatically generate a field in a table?

I have a table of contacts that is related (one to many) to a table of
activities. I want to store a field of "MaxDate" for each contact in
the contacts table based on the maximum date of their activity in the
activities table. I know how to do this using a max function in a
query. But, I want the field to automatically generate this data
without my having to run a query. I want it to be stored in the
contact table. How can I do this?

Sorry, you can't. You'll have to run a Update Query.

Personally, I wouldn't store that value. I'd just create it
dynamically, as needed, but feel free to go your own way.
