Buying a new computer with Windows xp Professional

MJ
My computer is biting the dust and I am about to purchase a new
computer which will have Windows XP Professional. Currently I have
Access 2000. What version of Access does the newest Windows have? Is
it still Access 2000 or is there a newer version included now?

If there is a newer version, will I have any trouble going back and
forth with Access 2000 (which I have at work).

None. Never has. Access comes with Office. The current version is
2003. Access 2003 can work with Access 2000 files.

That is great, but can I go back and forth. If I get an updated
version at home will I still be able to work on Access at home and the
send it to work (Access 2000)? I just didn't know if once you convert
a file to the newer version, you would be able to take that same file
and work on it with an older version. I hope I am explaining it
correctly.

I assume it will be Office XP 2003 (as opposed to 2002).

Access 2002 and 2003 both still support the 2000 format so you an
continue to work with 2000 databases or with the newer 2002/2003 format.

No need to convert. Access 2002/2003 can work with the 2000 format
directly.

(Although I've had problems when editing a 2000 ADP application in
2003... keeps getting corrupted for some reason).
