Access 2000 vba code large and slow

I have volunteered to take over a very large (in terms of my
experience) access project. The code modules and queries are in a
10MByte mdb file, and the data is retrieved from a separate MS SQL
server. My problem is that I have the habit of hitting CTRL-S to save
my code fairly often, but when I do it on this beast, it takes over a
minute to save the form and I sit there staring at the screen.

The knowledge base has documented this in the article "ACC2000: Saving
Objects in Large Database Slower Than in Earlier Versions"
(http://support.microsoft.com/default...;en-us;246306). The
problem is, it gives no solution.

I hoped that maybe someone, in fact, had a solution. Or maybe splitting
the database (making an MDE) would help? Also, I could copy the MDB
file to my local machine and then copy it back to the server, if that
would help (would users need to avoid using it in the meantime)?

Thanks,
Greg

You should never develop on an Access file over a LAN. Definitely copy the file
to your local disk while working on it. That will undoubtedly make the save a
lot faster.

Definately.

Also perhaps turn off track "Name Auto Correct info" ?
