Smonczka,
Microsoft includes such a thing with the template databases that come with
Access. Now, a fully featured materials management software that includes
all the bills of material niceties isn't something I'd take on for free.
There is lots of good software out there for reasonable money that will
manage inventory. MRP9000 used to be an Access 200/SQL Server 6 based
application that did exactly this. And . . . "modify to some degree" sounds
like the beginning of a nightmare of scope creep, missed deadlines and
budget bloat. It's a project you'd have to pay me double my usual rate (a
box of donuts, especially Krispy Kreme) to be interested in.

I am trying to locate an inventory template. I have looked at the one
that comes with Access but what I need is a little more complicated.
We ship boxes of software and the inventory consists not of the boxes
but of the elements that make up the box, such as a box, a CD and a
manual. The some elements may included in other products. So I need
to locate a template that would, if we say shipped BoxA, subtract out
of inventory only the elements that made up that boxA.
I'm not an Access programmer, my expertise is in Excel so I need to
locate an existing template that I can modify to some degree.
Thanks for your help,
