Hi All,
I'm wondering what job title you use in your shop for what you do.
Here's what I do; I design/develop Access database applications for
other people to use from beginning to end. I do all phases from
meetings with end users, scope document, design, code, test with end
users, production. I create split db applications, use Jet and/or
SQLServer, and all VBA coding(no macro's).
My current job title is Business Operations Analyst which does not fit
what I do. I was searching around the web looking for a more
appropriate title and really could not find one as I was hoping to be
able to compare salary levels.
So, what am I? What do you call yourself?
Is there a website which has salary ranges for whatever title you use?
thanks
bobh.
I do all that and most of the salesman's stuff as well as he's a total
waste of space and air (and a useless f**kwit to boot). That's what all
the programmers (as I call them) do in our company and for all the rest
their job title is "Senior Analyst/Programmer" we currently don't have a
junior :-) I'm the only one that's different in my job title being
"Chief Programmer" (hey, no "Analyst" bit?).
I'm quite happy to be called a "programmer" even though I do more than
just program computers, hey I even make the first pot of coffee in the
morning, should I be "Programmer/Tea Person"?
The title really means diddly squat, most titles are just delusions of
grandeur, e.g.
Procurement Officers & Contracts Engineers, You are "Buyers", Like it or
lump it.
Domestic Engineers, you are "housewives" goddammit, where the hell is
your engineering degree? eh?
In the case of our salesman, the word "sale" in his title is also a
delusion of grandeur :-(
