If I go through the normal key sequence for importing a text file and
click on 'Advanced' so that I can bring up import specification files,
and then try to add a couple of fields to the end of an already
existing spec, and then I try to save the changes, the changes
disappear - I can't make changes. The only workaround I've found is
to copy and paste the specs to Excel, then delete the spec, then open
a new blank spec in Access from scratch, paste the Excel info back in,
and save under the original spec name. But this workaround seems
silly. Has anybody run into this problem, and if so, is there a
better solution than my work around? I've tried searching this
newgroup but can't find the answer.
Everybody else in my company has this same problem, and they've asked
me why, but I don't have an answer.
