Pratical Security

Hi
A friend of mine is a beginner but needs to manage an Access database set of
users, accounts and permissins. I found Access permissions a little hard to
implement and explain. Moreover, the database may move from one computer to
another which may atract additional trouble. Please tell me your ideas
about implementing a more PRACTICAL WAY (even not so secure) if there is
one, of giving access through some sort of users/passwords criteria. Users
are of two types: One has all permissions, the others only read data and run
queries, reports, ... without update or design facilities.
Thank you.

Access' security, difficult though it is, and fallible though it is, is the
only reliable way to do what you want. You can prevent users changing code,
forms, or reports by compiling to MDE format, but they can still change
tables, queries, and macros.
