importing dbaseiii records

P: n/a
When I import a dbaseiii database into access, one of the fields which was a
memo field in dbase now contains a wierd char that looks like an I with an
accent over it followed by a box. This appears where a space should be. Does
anyone know how to correct this?

Thanks
