Update Statistics failed, incorrect set options

I have tried many variations (after reviewing other posts) and can not
resolve the following issue:

RUNNING SQL MAINTENANCE
----------------------------
SET ARITHABORT ON
SET CONCAT_NULL_YIELDS_NULL ON
SET QUOTED_IDENTIFIER ON
SET ANSI_NULLS ON
SET ANSI_PADDING ON
SET ANSI_WARNINGS ON
SET NUMERIC_ROUNDABORT OFF
exec master..xp_sqlmaint '-D SBC -UpdOptiStats 10 -RebldIdx 10'
--tried UpdOptiStats and RebldIdx separately with same results

RECEIVE THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE
------------------------------
[Microsoft SQL-DMO (ODBC SQLState: 42000)]
Error 1934: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]
UPDATE STATISTICS failed because the following SET options have
incorrect settings: 'QUOTED_IDENTIFIER, ARITHABORT
SERVER SETUP
-------------------------------
Windows 2000, Service Pack 4
SQL Server 2000 Standard Edition, Service Pack 3
Any help is greatly appreciated.
