Software Registration/Protection

Hi -- does anyone know of any good VB.NET software registration, protection
and activation components. I guess I'm looking for something similar to
http://www.ionworx.com/solutions.html

Any software solution is going to be breakable. Come to think of it, so is
any hardware solution. We have started using Sentinel Ultra Pro USB dongles
for our software (they are only £15 or so each). They can be
activated/programmed in field too and are, I think, a bit more secure than
purely "software" protection methods.

Other problem is -- I already have an application here that uses a dongle.
If every application did it this way (unlesss highly specialized and very
expensive), I would quickly run out of USB ports.

You have a site?

How much code is involved in using the dongle?

Don't forget www.keylok.com. They're pretty reasonable and one thing
that I really like is that they dongles come plain vanilla, no
identification as to who even manufactured the dongle.

We have only used them with Delphi Win32 (just starting to learn .net
through VS), but the list of compilers supported is extensive through
dll's, ocx, etc.

What kind of code is required for keylok? I'm interested to see what I'd
have to do if I decided to use this product... I know I can pay $19.95 and
get the trial kit, but figured I'd ask anyway.

The problem that I see is, some people will avoid purchasing a program that
uses a dongle. We they easily get lost and broken. Usually a software type
key can be replaced via a phone call or email to customer service.
Applications differ, but I believe folks expect their software to outlast
their computers. Having been burnt by lost lpt port dongles in the 80s I
wouldn't buy a program that depends on a dongle if I had any coice.
