VB.NET Application Questions

I'm new to VB.NET and have plenty of experience with VB 6. However I've
discovered everything is now different. I've read at least five VB.NET books
and understand where they're coming from, but they are simplistic and don't
work in real life applications.

Does anyone know of a good book or books that help teach someone how to
build REAL applications with a back end database in VB.NET?

Cricket,

I always advice these.

VB.net Resource kit
http://msdn.microsoft.com/vbasic/vbrkit/default.aspx

And if you have problems installing the resource kit
http://msdn.microsoft.com/vbasic/vbr...q/#installvdir

Another resource for learning is the Quick Starts
http://samples.gotdotnet.com/quickstart/

I hope this helps a little bit?
