Hi,
I am trying to help my hosting company figure out how to support my
db. I have a huge db, and they did not set up their box to have a
large enough temp(?) space for mysql to play in. As such I was
getting weird index corruptions.
They are telling me that they cannot reorganize their disks, since
there are other users on that machine....

Hi all,
Very new to MySql so I hope this is not too obvious!
I am getting the following error message when I am trying to load a
script ‘ERROR 1064 (00000) at line 20: You have an error in your SQL
syntax. Check the
manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right
syntax to use

Hi All,
We've only used MySQL in a very cursory way supporting PHP scripts
running on a server. We now have a requirement to write an application
that shares data using a centralised repository. The application will
be written in Java and we may potentially use MySQL as the data store
using JDBC drivers to bridge the two. One of the key...

I'm wondering, in the I18N'ized version of our application, if someone is
running it, say, on a French system, where certain characters have accent
marks, and such characters are saved into a MySQL database from Java Strings
that go into Varchar fields, do I need to process those Strings in any
fashion before/after they are moved to the...

How do i display a date as a new column 7 days after the initial timestamp
eg
current timestamp = 20050310000000
if i add 7 days to this won't it result in 20050317000000
eg SELECT *, DATE_FORMAT('%d/%m/%Y' , (dateAuthorised+7)) as expiryDate
I know this is the wrong approach as the timestamp 20050330000000 would
cause an error

I'm running 3.23.54 on Windows 98. I cannot access any tables
of a database which previously worked fine and suddenly broke.
I get Error 1017 errno: 2 from both mysqlcc 0.9.4 and mysqlc.
The system complains that it cannot find any of the .MYD files,
although they are clearly there. The file system is perfectly
analogous to other databases in...

Ive been asked to write an application that can discern what numbers have

some sort of hardware that can do an INSET to a MySQL database somehow. Has
anyone ever heard of such a creature?
