Hi ,
I am want to run the shell script to run every 10 minutes of interval ,so that i have used crontab command for scheduling the shell script .. it cant works . i have checked wall command in crontab it is working properly when i try to run the shell script or even echo " name" cant to be worked using crontab.

Hi all,
I am using RHEL 6. When i use CAP3 software for the first time it successfully resulted. But second time when i used, it's showing "segmentation fault (core dumped)". Hi!
My second post, very similar to the first one.
I just mounted a debian server and start to run some few scripts. They "seem" to run, but sometimes (5% of times) I am getting this error message:

Hello
I am studying the Operating system (linux) for the first time.
I was asked to make free shell account with telnet facility.
I made the one ,but it says that server is not providing telnet but SSH.
I want to know the difference between the two?
what's their purpose and is SSH can be used as substitute for telnet?

Hello,
I want to open 5 terminals from a parent terminal and place these terminals on the screen properly so that each terminal can be viewed properly at the same time.

I know this is just easy to answer for you guys especially those who are very familiar in unix-scripting.

I'm currently trying to read the output from a BarCode scanner. It is recognized by the system as a keyboard and I can access to its output through one of the /dev/input/eventx file.
The problem is that I don't understand the output and that I would like to know how to read it with a Java program.

Dear Friends,
In open system call we have three arguments.
First: file descriptor
Second: flag
Third: Mode
for example we use
open (fd, O_RDWR | O_CREAT , 0764)
Here i used 764 only but it doesn't work fine. If i use 0764 it worked fine.
